Almost Ready for the Printers
The news from Ashbrook is that Tom’s book will be with the printers next week!
Entitled ‘The Moycullen Ponymen’, it deals with the history and development of the pony from the mid-20′s to the mid-60′s. Tom deals in detail with the Moycullen ponies, as examples of the breed for throughout all Connemara. He examines the old practices of the ‘dragging home’, posting, and jaunting, and the book will contain scores of old photos that have never been published before – like the very rare one shown here of a Mountain Lad daughter.
And Oh! By the way – did you know there were two Mountain Lads…?
Wish I could come! Won’t have the time to make the drive with all the snow on the ground right now though. I’m looking forward to seeing the book though, it looks fab!
