Award for Pat Lyne

We have now included (courtesy of Rozpravka Photography) a selection of 50 Stallions from the 2011 Parade in our Gallery Section.

At the well-attended Awards night at the Station House on Saturday last, Pat Lyne, Joe Gorham, Ado Kenny, and Christy King were inducted into the CPBS’ Hall of Fame. Carrol Seigne and Dan O’Brien (Templebready Fear Buí) and Bertie O’Halloran (Young Walt) received Performance awards, as did the connections of showjumper Bob Marley.

The weekend came to a conclusion on Sunday, when over fifty stallions took part in the annual parade. Most of them belonged to the younger generation – though Dungimmon Knight (1223), Castlestrange Fionn (1046), and Kilmullen Fionn (1015) ably represented the older. Among the others that paraded were Coolin America (3387), Rosscon Sunrise (2082), Shanna Larry (3792), Young Walt (1216), Clooneile Cashel (1137), Dooneen Supermatch (1371), and former supreme champion Currachmore Cashel (1128).

The parade ran most efficiently and was a credit to the organisers. The programme, and excellent commentary by Ann Reade, Emer McNamara and Niamh Philbin kept the onlookers enlightened. It was a good day in the sun.
