It has come to my attention that there are some compatibility issues in viewing the site with some versions of Internet Explorer (IE), namely version 6.0. Nothing serious, but apparently sometimes the pages need to be refreshed in order to display properly and the gallery thumbnails are popping out of their cells. I admit to being a little mistified as to why this is so, as the pages are all WC3 compliant, but am trawling through the code to see if I can find what’s causing this.
In the meantime, IE6 features a ‘compatability mode’ which should temporarily fix the problem. The button for this is usually seen beside the address bar and the refresh button. Thanks for your patience! – É.
Update – Well, I’ve found the problem! It’s more awkward than anything else, and unfortunately affects all the full screen viewings of the pictures as well as the main gallery pages. The fix changes the page layout slightly, but probably for the better in the long run. The main gallery pages should be OK now, and the ‘fullscreen’ pages should all be tidied up by tommorrow evening, hopefully. Thanks again! – É.
Update Again! – The galleries are all fixed now, and should operate fine on all browsers and versions. If any IE6 user is still having trouble with pages only half loading, there’s nothing for it I’m afraid other than to keep hitting that refresh button. To solve the problem from this side would require writing reams upon reams of coding into every page on the site, all for a browser that is (and I’m sorry to say this!..) out of date. IE is always problematic, as Microsoft tend to ignore industry standards, and I would strongly suggest upgrading at least to IE8 as soon as possible. My own personal opinion would be to go for Firefox or Google Chrome instead.
