Connemara Pony World 2011 from Horsebox TV on Vimeo.
Attracting ponies from all corners of the island, the Connemara Pony World show looks to build upon 2010′s successful debut, and returns this year on Saturday 4th June 2011 in the wonderful surroundings of Boswell Equestrian in Co. Wicklow. Certainly helping in this regard is the news that its intrepid organisers have managed to secure a qualifying class for Olympia on its roster of events – something of a coup for the new arrival on the show circuit, and the only qualifier for that prestigious event in Ireland. The qualifier winner will go forward to the Olympia Mountain and Moorland Ridden Final for 2011. Sarah Challnor, leading show rider and winner at HOYS and Olympia on several occasions, has been confirmed as a judge.
With some 25 classes overall, including (confirmed) 7 National qualifiers and 2 International UK qualifiers, the CPW show is filling a definate need on the East coast (indeed – on any coast) for Performance friendly Connemara shows. Last year saw the Working Hunter and Riding classes filled with huge numbers, and the In-Hand (where our own interests lay) filled by ponies from the length and breadth of the land, including some Clifden winners. In an interesting twist, this year’s show will also be promoted to UK ponies, as well as being recorded for horsebox.tv.
Connemaraponyworld.com is the destination for information, entries and all correspondence. For any businesses that may be interested, the organisers of the CPW Show are actively seeking sponsorship and may be contacted via the above web address.
