Detective Tennant Roams the Bushveld

John Tennant, retired President of the Australian Society and retired head of the South Australian Mounted Police, has obviously lost none of his copper’s instincts. John has been doing some sleuthing of late, and not alone has he tracked down some Connemara Ponies in South Africa – but a whole society! He is, at this very moment, pursuing this possible next member of the ICCPS. Just give that man a sniff…!

Just as a P.S. to this post, I was just browsing for ‘South African Connemara Pony’ and came accross this site, run by Denis & Christine Walwyn, where there are some details about the Connemara Society in that country. Particularly liked the bit where they invite you to go “…Game viewing on horseback is as exciting experience[sic] – you get close to the black wildebeest who snort and prance around you, and you stalk the zebra, the Blesbok, and the springbok. We follow the old wagon trail to get here, the horses’ hooves clip-clopping over the rocks in the grooves of the wheels.” Nice! As long as there’s nothing bigger and pointier behind the wildebeest…
