While the first ever Finnish connemara pony was exported this year (stallion Rockfield Scarface is leased to Sweden for the breeding season), the second one is on his way – and to Ireland: Golddigger Laddie is a 16-year old stallion and he will be standing at Henry Kelly’s Coilltedubh Stud next season.
You can view some recent photos of him here and here (note the fantastic dun roan colour!).
As well as the photos above, Satu has also provided us with his pedigree. Thanks Satu!
Hi Tom And all at ashbrook just to inform you that golddigger laddie will arrive in ireland this week and i would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a happy Christmas and prosperous new year
Regards Henry Kelly
Hi Henry – thanks for letting us know the good news, and the very best to you and yours also! Happy Christmas.
Golddigger Laddie has had his first Irish born foal, Inis Slé Casta Bianca arrived on the weekend, with her sire’s unusual colour, She makes for an exciting broodmare in Ireland with no Abbeyleix Owen or Carna bobby in her 5 generation pedigree, her 5th generation goes back to the year 1944 (Tiger Gil). She is also only one of a handful of Fillies that Golddigger Laddie has produced over the years.
I imported a Finnish colt in April 2010. Caragh Gaoithe will be standing at my farm in Ontario, Canada.
I have met Curly Whirly and her lovely daughter, Bianca, and was delighted to see the roan quarters the foal has inherited from her dad ! A grand make of a foal too, and with Anthony’s permission will put some pics of his ponies up on our site ? See also http://www.nicpba.co.uk and keep in touch with we folk up North !
Adh Mór daoibh !
