German Society loses a Founding Member

It was with great sadness that we learned of the recent passing of Herbert Imping, one of the earliest enthusiasts who imported Connemara’s to Germany. Herbert first came as a young man to Ireland working with the ESB. His first passion was Salmon fishing on the Blackwater in Cork. He then got to know, and became a lifelong friend, of Joe Mac Namara of Craughwell of the ‘Ganty’ prefix. For many years, as President of the Society, he has championed the cause of the Connemara in Germany.
