Molly Takes Gold in Belgium!

The Incredible Ballyowen Maybelle Molly has seized the Gold medal in the individual trials at the European Championships in Belgium! This fantastic achievement, won at the pinacle of european competitive eventing, cements her status as the premier pony of her class in Europe.

Not only has a Connemara Pony attained such glory for her breed, but after Molly’s jump-off against Denmark’s Christiane Tetzlaff, second place went to Murphy’s Flight (sold out of Ireland to Denmark some two years ago) another Connemara! A stunning coup for the Irish Pony.

Only last Saturday, Molly and her compatriot Connemara Sillogue Darkie were jumping for Ireland in the team trials. The show jumpers were leading on a zero score at the halfway stage following clears from Kellie Allen (Ballyowen Maybelle Molly) and Michael Duffy (Sillogue Darkie). The team-mates all faulted second time out to leave the final Irish tally at 12 faults, which allowed the Danish team to claim gold when they completed with eight on the board while Germany took bronze when finishing with 16. These were the only faults Molly and Kellie were to accumulate over the entire weekend of competitions.

To return on Monday and seize the individual Gold speaks volumns of the confidence and determination of both the pony and her dedicated squad of owner Anthony Mac Cormack, rider Kelly Allen and breeders John and Jenny Richardson. We cannot speak highly enough of any of those who took part in this great day, or contributed to bringing her to this level of greatness.

Well done to all concerned! Congratulations especially to Anthony, for whom this day must surely mark as an equestian high point in his life. Very, very, very well done!

Well tom just a short message to say thanks very much for all your support and everybody that wish us well along the way.I can’t really believe it to be honest. The dream has come thru. It just goes to show you that every pony is special and nobody knows whats inside an animal when your buying you just keep putting in the time and effort and hope they’ll turn in to a swan or in this case a european champion. I hope people will take heart from what molly has done and to stick with there dreams because they do come thru. It’s an honour to be apart of what molly has just done and hopeful again in the future. Hope everybody enjoys dublin and clifden and the weather is good for both.
