Satu Pitkanen writes to let us know that the results from the National Connemara Pony Society Breed Show in Finland are now online (in English) and can be viewed here.
The results are accompanied, by and large, with photographs of the winners of each class (a good habit, and one that perhaps we could look to emulate, on this site at least, in the future). Viewers will note a strange looking gentleman – who appears to have awarded himself a rosette – in some of the photos. Tom was honoured by the Finnish Society in being asked to be a judge at the National C.P. Show this year, a task we know he enjoyed greatly.
Visitors to their Society’s website will find it a pleasure to browse, with plenty of high quality pictures, notes, up to date results and information. I would also certainly urge anyone with spare time on their hands to follow the link provided on their site to the online gallery of Finnish Connemaras. I say ‘time on their hands’ as there are over 270 photo’s up there and they are all of the highest quality.
I believe Satu herself deserves the credit for the photography, and ample credit indeed. It is certainly somewhat unusual to see Connemara’s gamboling about in foot thick snow! Click here to go directly to the Society’s links page, on which you may find plenty of other sites of interest as well.
Another point of interest to Satu’s note was her notification of another aspect of the Finnish Society’s website – a gallery of new foals for 2009. A charming page if ever there was one, and one that does no harm in publicising the breed to a wider audience.
