On Thursday the 27th in the Abbeyglen Hotel, John Petch mounted his exhibition of photographs of ponies and characters from the early seventies. They included fascinating studies of some of the breed’s iconic stallions such as Murphy Rebel, Abbeyleix Owen, and Maam Hill. The occasion proved to be a highly enjoyable social occasion where the many overseas breeders got a chance to mingle with Irish breeders for the start of the stallion parade weekend.
