When Carrahulla Lass died following a pregnancy scan in the Summer of 2001 her colt foal Carrahulla Lad, by Tulira Robuck was orphaned. He subsequently came to Ashbrook Stud in part exchange for a replacement mare called French Robe.Lad won the gelding class in Ballinasloe in ’03 and came second in Athenry in ’04 where Michael Mitchell bought him.Michael produced him six weeks later to win the Clifden Loose Jumping Competition before selling him on to the Lockinge Stud in Oxfordshire.
