Show Jumping Success

We were all delighted yesterday at Ashbrook Stud when the news reached us that Ballyowen Maybelle Molly had qualified to jump at Fontainebleu for Anthony Mc Cormack. Molly is a desendant of Ballyowen Belle, bred in 1963 by Tom’s father Séan in Moycullen. She was sold as a yearling filly at the Clifden show in 1964 to Harry Richardson and the Richardson family have remained faithful to the ‘Belle’ line ever since. Molly is a spectacular jumper, of whom much is expected in the future. She is not the first pony in that family to gain success in the performance arena as Belle’s full sister Pógín was a huge success in England in the Seventies, while that success was mirrored in Canada by Golden Avens Ruby, the daughter of Citeog, another sister of Belle’s.
