Stallion Audit 2009
Two of the stallions that died this year were Heather Dino and Milford Siskin (S-788). On the other hand, Maam Hill (S-728, shown above, photo from doyher.net), born in 1977, is still fertile, hale and hearty.
He is by Dun Aengus (S-120) who was born in ’58 – so that he and his sire span just over fifty years. Maybe there is a special longevity gene in there? Dun Lorenzo (S-55), born in ’41, the sire of Dun Aengus is reputed to have been one of the toughest and the best. Interesting! Maybe it all comes from his dam, Draighneann Donn (M-280, although of pedigree unknown).
